Role Overview
Novonesis is seeking a Research Scientist to join our Molecular Discovery team, which focuses on early innovation through enzyme and protein diversity. As part of this team, you will collaborate with industry partners to develop cutting-edge solutions across various applications, from sustainable practices to enhancing food products.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
- Degree in biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field (PhD or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in molecular biology & DNA modification; experience with enzyme and protein expression in Aspergillus/Bacillus systems a plus
- Enzyme-substrate understanding to select the right enzyme activity and develop effective screening assays
- Experience in protein engineering and structure-function relationships
- Interest in data analysis and programming (e.g., Python, Jupiter notebooks)
- Team player mindset, committed to continuous learning and driving team success
- Effective communication in English and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
