What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelors Degree required, preferably in biology-based science. A
- Ph.D. with equivalent industrial/academic experience, with a strong emphasis in immunology, is preferred with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Job Skills:
- Proven ability to handle primary cells, particularly immune cells, is essential. Experience of co-culture systems, 3D models, and histological analysis of immune biomarkers would all be an added advantage.
- Omicmeasurements (e.g.RNAseq, proteomics, etc.) of cells and/or tissues and bioinformatic analyses using software platforms is preferred. Knowledge of single-cell and/or spatial transcriptomic techniques is an added advantage.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external partners for new technology development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Program support: As part of the Human Biology program, provide immunologyandallergyexpertise to support all project workstreams in skincare with a primary focus on the skin barrier. Undertake lab-based research to identify new insights, targets, and technology for skin care and cleansing categories.
- External networks and resources: Leverage the best of both academia and industry, including assessing and working with independent service providers, to support the development of new technologies.
- Sciencecapabilitiesbuild: Support internal efforts to build knowledge and expertise in the area of skin immunology. Actively evaluate new science capabilities, establish relevant capabilities into practice and assist in alignment with relevant Unilever programs. Also, input to further develop our lipid biochemistry knowledge.
- Business relationships: Build and maintain effective working relationships globally with project teams in Human Biology, HumanMicrobiomeand business category stakeholders in Unilever.
- People/Skills Development: Be proactive, energetic, self-motivated, with the ability to work on their own initiative and with strong communication skills, for delivering the immunology focussedHuman Biologyagendaand exploiting all opportunities. Previous direct line management and the development of employees is also desirable.
