Job Description
Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Scientist, Molecular Biology Tools on a temporary contract until February 2026. As a member of the Molecular Biology Tools R&D team, you will be responsible for performing molecular biology experiments with the goal of finding the best approaches for various DNA cloning applications. We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and able to handle independent tasks with the understanding of how those tasks tie into the bigger picture, in support of product development projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory bench work with a focus on daily testing of reagents for development, improvement, and troubleshooting of DNA assembly technologies for Molecular Cloning.
- Work closely with R&D teams to execute product development projects that meet customer needs in support of department objectives.
- Independently develop, revise and review SOP’s and quality records of equipment maintenance, tests, analyses, and other relevant data.
- Be responsible and accountable for a safe work environment, including proper training in laboratory safety procedures, maintenance, and stocking of equipment and supplies.
- Assist with managing and maintaining required reagents, laboratory environment, and equipment needed to carry out experiments.
- Compile, analyze data, and compose reports as required, present results and conclusions to the team.
- Analyze the trends in Molecular Cloning research field, read publications, and identify areas for further innovation and support continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology.
- Possess a clear understanding and have related experience in basic molecular biology techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be adaptable and flexible with changes to working environment and still deliver high-quality results.
- Self-motivated with a genuine desire to learn and develop your skills.
- A team player who is open to feedback and works well within a larger group.
Monthly salary from 2,183.33 EUR to 3,270.83 EUR before taxes plus additional benefits package.
